Are you tired of digital clocks with tiny four-digit displays? Our Jumbo 6-Digit
Clock gives you the full SIX digits and each digit is a whopping 2.2 inches tall!
The result is an eye-catching timepiece that is visible from anywhere! The seconds
display gives precise timing accuracy.
Place it on a desk, shelf or hang it on a wall and you can stop squinting to see the time. Other jumbo clocks form the digits with a bunch of LED "dots", but these are SOLID 7-segment displays with super brightness! The electronic kit is fun & easy to build and ALL parts are included. Perfect for home, work, classrooms, stores & HAM shacks.
GREAT FEATURES:
Red, Yellow & Green LED's have been available for many years, but a recent technology breakthough now gives us WHITE LED's! Incandescent light bulbs may soon be a thing of the past. The life of an LED can exceed 100,000 hours, so you can say good-bye to replacing burned out bulbs. This amazing technology has been incorporated into a handy pocket sized mini-light that gives you instant illumination everywhere you go.
This super-bright pocket light is compact, durable and produces a high efficiency beam that can be seen from a mile away. Never be caught alone in the dark again. It's perfect for pocket, purse, car, backpack or keychain.

Low cost digital clocks have been available for many years, but most show the time in a static four-digit display. The LNS Scrolling Clock creates an interesting timepiece by presenting the digits in a dot-matrix format and scrolling the time in a ticker-tape fashion. The result is an eye-catching timepiece that is truly unique. Place it on your desk, mantle or table and watch the attention it gets!

Ion propulsion is a reality!
Now you can build your own ion propulsion motor that works on the same basic
principles as NASA's Deep Space-1 craft. This project uses a high-voltage
potential that generates four streams of "ion wind". The ion streams exert
enough force to spin a rotor at a remarkable speed. This high-tech device
makes a great science project or an interesting desktop toy. The ion motor
also generates negative ions which can reduce pollen and pollution in the
air to produce a healthier environment.
Stepper motors can be used in a wide variety of hobby applications:
Robotics, Motorized Telescopes, Engraving Machines, Plotters, CNC Machines, etc.
This bipolar chopper drive can control a variety of stepper motors for any of those applications. It has been designed for easy set-up and use. This drive works with BIPOLAR (4-wire or 8-wire) motors. It is ideal for development projects because it already includes a single power supply and a motor for evaluation. Or you can just connect your own power supply and motor and the drive is ready to run. Motor current is set using an on-board potentiometer. No external current setting resistors are required. This feature-packed drive provides all basic motor controls, including full or half stepping of bipolar steppers and direction control. An oscillator circuit is standard on the drive with an on-board speed control potentiometer. In addition, external input/output signals allow complete remote control of all drive functions. It even includes detailed instructions on interfacing to the printer port of any PC computer! This driver has appeared as an entry in a FIRST Robotics Competition.
Includes integral aluminum heatsink. See a photo of a homebuilt CNC machine that was built using this driver:

Nixie tubes were originally developed in 1952 by the Burroughs Corp. as a numberic readout device.
In recent years they have become popular again, perhaps because of their unique "glow" or maybe just
out of nostalgia. They are being used in a variety of applications, but the most popular use today of
Nixie tubes is for building ultra-cool clocks. One of the challenges in using Nixie tubes is the fact that they need 180VDC potential on the anode to get the gas to produce that nice warm glow. That's exactly what this encapsulated DC/DC converter was designed to do! It converts +12VDC input (actually any input voltage between +11VDC to +26VDC) into +180VDC output.
NOW YOU CAN AVOID UNSAFE AC STEP-UP TRANSFORMERS!
This easy to use converter has only 4 pins: 2 for your DC input voltage and 2 for the 180 volt output to your Nixies. It couldn't be simpler! The output voltage is fully regulated and can supply up to 12 mA. - plenty of current for up to SIX Nixie tubes. The converter has standard 0.1 inch pin spacing, so it can be soldered directly on a PC board or can be plugged directly into a perf-board or proto-board.
Here is a photo of a Nixie Clock built by one of our customers, using the NIX180 power supply. Note: this clock is NOT FOR SALE.

Then you need this powerful stepper motor driver! This driver uses the SLA7062M IC which combines low-power CMOS logic with high-current, high voltage power FET outputs to deliver a whopping 3 Amps of motor current. The SLA7062M is part of the SLA706xM series from Allegro/Sanken.
This drive will deliver the power you need, but how about precision? Well, this happens to be a Microstepping Drive! You can select from half-step, quarter-step, eighth-step and even sixteenth-step modes. Combine a 200-step-per-revolution motor with the sixteenth-step mode and you'll get an amazing 3200 steps per revolution. That's 0.1125 angular degrees per step!
There's more: This drive works with UNIPOLAR (6-wire) motors. Unipolar motors typically are more plentiful and lower cost than bipolar motors, so you can save money on your project. In the past, unipolar drives required large dropping resistors that ran really HOT. Not any more! This drive uses PWM (pulse-width modulation) to deliver maximum power to your stepper motor with NO DROPPING RESISTORS.
Here's another feature of this wonderful drive that you shouldn't do without (especially for CNC machine builders): Idle Power Reduction. This means that as long as the motor is in motion, the drive delivers the full power that you have set. But if the motor is stopped for more than 2-seconds it automatically switches to half power. Or you can disable the Idle Power Reduction and run constantly at full power.
The drive accepts simple STEP & DIRECTION signals. The input signals are fully opto-isolated and the drive can be easily connected to the parallel printer port of your computer. The drive will work with any DC voltage from 10V to 40V DC.
In addition to offering the unipolar microstepping driver kit, we are ALSO selling the SLA7062 IC and the bare PC board separately for those who want to experiment with it on their own.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This kit does NOT include a stepper motor or power supply. You will need to provide a unipolar motor, a DC power supply and the STEP/DIRECTION signals.
You can also purchase this driver fully assembled and tested:
